Who founded Kind Mental Health?

Jo-Anna Sell founded KIND after her own lived experience of a mental health challenge. She felt so passionately about the subject she spent the next 4 years retraining in many areas of Mental Health


Meet Jo-Anna Sell

KIND is a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training and Wellbeing Events Company dedicated to providing education, awareness and support around an often difficult topic whilst encouraging and enabling people to maintain positive wellbeing.

Experience includes BBC, Channel 4, Global Radio, House of Lords

Since 2019, Jo has trained over 2,000 staff from many corporations globally, such as Google, Amgen, MSD, Endemol Shine, BBC and Global Radio to name a few, along with many individuals and teams from charities and community ventures.

Her relaxed, knowledgeable and inclusive training style makes her an award winning, popular and sought after training instructor and workplace consultant.

MHFA Trained

Jo is an accredited Adult Mental Health First Aid England Instructor, qualified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Suicide First Aid and a trained Talking Therapist with a specialist qualification in drugs and alcohol counselling. She has also been part of a panel of experts for the House of Lords to discuss workplace wellbeing and mental health, helping to implement change through sharing best practices.

Leading change to Mental Health in the Workplace

Previously to KIND Jo worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years and has been responsible for leading change in how Mental Health is supported within the Workplace.

Jo’s work has seen her nominated twice in the This Can Happen Awards (the UK’s largest Mental Health Conference) for the Most Inspiring Employee and Best Mental Health in the Workplace Strategy.
